Norwich by City Boat

The city of Norwich sits on the River Wensum, nestled away in Norfolk on England’s East Coast.

On a sunny day there is no better way to explore than by boat. We took a river cruise from Elm Hill Quay to Thorpe and back to the city. We booked a private charter with City Boats as a party of 35 people. The two-hour trip was a return journey from the city to Griffin Lane, Thorpe St Andrew.

These are a few of the photos I caught along the way. Click the images to see them full size.

  1. What a gorgeous and picturesque float down the river! Wow, amazing!! Thanks for sharing. I had the pleasure of visiting London but unfortunately didn’t have a chance to visit the countryside nor Scotland as I would like to do. It looks beautiful there! Have you been north to Scotland? I’d also love to see your pics and words about that territory. Thanks for sharing, beautiful pics 🙂

    1. Thank you, it was a lovely day and a really nice way to spend a sunny afternoon. I would also love to see Scotland, I went to Edinburgh last year but only had one day there. I’d really like to visit the north – definitely still on the wish list 🙂

      1. Awesome! Well you can use your site as an excuse to go adventuring up there 😛 I’m happy we’ve linked. Take care and have a great day! Thank you so much for your support over at QuickMeUps. Talk to you soon!

  2. These are really beautiful, I love the painting effect! Really like the one of the rower – that looks like hard work! 🙂

    1. It was great fun, it’s amazing how you can live somewhere and never try the things the tourists enjoy. Next summer I’d like the try the river punting trips 🙂
